Joint Credit Programming
General Description: Joint credit programming – for the purposes of the Visualizing the Learning Journey project – refers to programming offering opportunity for learners to achieve an OSSD as preparation for transition to a specific program in college or university. Depending on the program, learners gain high school and post-secondary credit simultaneously, or learners can transition from high school into second semester of a post- secondary program.
Pathways to Practical Nursing Program
Focus: This program was developed in collaboration with the School of
Nursing at George Brown College (GBC). Students in this program take
a variety of core and elective courses that will give them advanced standing
in their first and second semesters of the Practical Nursing Program at
GBC. This will dramatically reduce the workload in the first two semesters.
Successful students will articulate directly to GBC's first semester of Practical
Nursing and will not have to compete with the 3,000 other applicants for the
160 available spots.
