Program Description
The Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) program is and adult upgrading certificate delivered by colleges in Ontario. The ACE Certificate is recognized as equivalent to an OSSD for adults entering college programs, apprenticeship or employment. To earn an ACE Certificate, learners must complete a minimum of four ACE courses, including Communications and Mathematics, with a grade of B/B+ or higher. Learners entering college as mature students usually do not need an ACE Certificate but only ACE prerequisite courses for their chosen programs. Learners must complete two (2) mandatory courses – English and Math – and two other courses based on their goals. The other ACE courses include Computer Studies, Self Direction, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. There are also math options that focus on apprenticeship, business or technology applications.

Eligibility: An individual must be:

• 18 years of age or older
• A resident of Ontario
• Legally able to work in Ontario

Fees: FREE to learners who qualify. ACE is a tuition free program, but learners may need to pay a fee towards the cost of learning materials

ACE Online Options
The ACE Distance option provides a flexible and convenient online learning experience. A learner has 22 weeks to finish each course, but learners can also complete a course even quicker.

Note: In order to be eligible for ACE Distance students must do two things:

1. Complete the NEW Consent & Information form required by our funder, the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities for all students after January 1, 2012. To access the form, click here.
2. Complete the 20 hour Learn to Learn Course required of all students. To sign up for Learn to Learn, click here. Click on the 6th tab on the left (L2L Registration). Complete the form at the bottom of the page and click on the Register button. You will receive follow up instructions from Marla White and will be able to start the Learn to Learn course the following Monday.
